Blagnac SCR

Blagnac Sporting Club Rugby is a rugby union club based in the French city of Blagnac in the Haute- Garonne. He is represented in the highest amateur league Fédérale 1. The home games are played at the Stade Ernest- Argelès. The players are usually referred to as caouecs, which means in Occitan " carrots ". A great rivalry with the U.S. team Colomiers, which also comes from the metropolitan area of ​​Toulouse.

History

After the founding in 1922 Blagnac SCR usually played in regional leagues. In the 1988/89 season the club was first represented in the highest French League; after the second place in the group stage of the championship, the team reached the second round, but was defeated by FC Lourdes. 1990 saw the relegation to the second, later in the third division. In the 2006/07 season Blagnac reached in the highest amateur league, the Fédérale 1, the second place and rose again. However, the club could only say one season in the second division.
