Blanchardville is part of the metropolitan area of Madison.
Geography
Blanchardville is located in southwest Wisconsin on both sides of the Pecatonica River, a tributary of the opening into the Mississippi Rock River. Located on the Mississippi intersection of the three states of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin is located 176 km north-west. After Illinois, there are 39 km to the south.

History
In 1848 a group of Mormons settled on the banks of the Pecatonica River. 1855 Alvin Blanchard bought the previously built here mill and the surrounding land in anticipation of future settlements. 1888, the city was connected to the railway network.
