Blankenhagen

Blankenhagen is a municipality in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Rostock Heath, based in Gelbensande.

Geography

Blankenhagen is located in the north of the country Mecklenburg -Vorpommern on the outskirts of Rostock heath. The nearest major city is Rostock ( about 20 miles west).

Quarters are Blankenhagen, Bill Hagen, Hagen and Cords Mandelshagen.

History

The first written mention dates from the Blank Hagens in 1233. You performed by an Episcopal available on tithing in the parish Ribnitz.

The church was first mentioned on August 23, 1318 and was in the Middle Ages Archidiakonat Rostock. Founder and builder of the church was the noble family of the Moltke, who also occupied the patronage. The first mention is that a Johann von Moltke for the priest Ghodefridus donated a Vikarei in the church at Blankenhagen. The Moltke are no longer in 1361 in Blankenhagen detectable. Probably the place was the ducal Domanium incorporated early as the 14th century. In 1421 the town was pledged by Duke Albrecht V of the Rostock Mayor Katzow. It is unknown when it fell back to the sovereign. There is evidence that Blankenhagen was pledged in 1670 by Duke Gustav Adolf of Mecklenburg to the widow of Eckhard of the Liihe. This family owned Blankenhagen to 1704, when it was bought back by the Duke.

On 1 January 2012, the formerly independent municipality Mandelshagen was incorporated into Blankenhagen.

Coat of arms

The municipal coat of arms was designed by Freudenberger Manfred Gerth and approved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on 8 September 2008.

Blazon: "In green two diagonally crossed gold Rodehacken six golden rape flowers. "

Flag

The flag of the municipality Blankenhagen is striped across the longitudinal axis of the flag cloth of gold ( yellow ), green and gold ( yellow). The golden ( yellow ) strips each take a quarter, the green stripe takes up half the length of the bunting. Two diagonally crossed gold Rodehacken over six ( 3:2:1 ) golden rape flowers: in the middle of the green strip, the characters of the municipality coat of arms in flag just Tincture lie. The figures assume a total of 13/15 of the height of the flag cloth. The height of the flag cloth is related to the length as 3:5.

Church

The stone church has a rectangular choir with pointed arched windows and comes in its oldest parts probably already in the 13th century. At the window and door openings, as well as on the gables brick was used. The nave is rib- vaulted and trimmed with Arc de Triomphe. There is a wooden tower on the west side. In 1964, the church was restored.
