Blanzac-Porcheresse

Blanzac - Porcheresse is a commune of 836 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) is in the Charente Poitou -Charentes region. It is the main town ( chef -lieu ) of the canton of the same name.

Geography

The community Blanzac - Porcheresse lies on the River Ne, about 22 km from Angoulême. It is a node in the network of roads department. The municipality is bordered to the north by Champagne- Vigny, on the northeast by Bécheresse, to the east by Pérignac, on the southeast by Saint- Léger, to the south by Cressac -Saint -Genis, on the southwest by Bessac and Saint- Aulais -la -Chapelle, in west Péreuil and to the northwest by Aubeville.

History

The church today Blanzac - Porcheresse was established in 1972 and includes the boundaries of the formerly independent municipality Porcheresse.
