Blato, Korčula

Blato (it. Blatta ) is a town in Croatia on the island of Korčula ( Dubrovnik -Neretva ). The municipality has 3,593 inhabitants according to the census of 2011. Blato is situated in the interior of the island, about 4 km from the coast and on the road from Korcula to Vela Luka. It is operated agriculture, particularly viticulture and olives. Tourism is also an important economic activity.

In Blato, there are remains of Roman settlement. The Romanesque- Gothic church of St. Jerome dated to the 14th century.
