Błażejowice Dolne

Blaschewitz (Polish: Błażejowice Dolne ) is a town in Upper Silesia. Blaschewitz located in the municipality Oberglogau ( Głogówek ) in Prudnicki powiat (district Neustadt OS) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Blaschewitz located five kilometers northwest of the municipality seat Oberglogau, 19 kilometers east of the county town of Prudnik ( Neustadt OS) and 34 kilometers south of the Opole voivodship ( Opole ).

History

The village was mentioned in 1358 as " Blazycowicz " and 1460 as " Blazeiowitz ". The place name is said to derive from the personal name Blasius. In 1865 the town had 13 farmers, 15 gardeners and 8 smallholdings. At this time Blaschewitz had a Catholic school with 85 pupils and was the parish after meadow - Pauline.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 210 voters voted to remain in Germany and 14 for Poland. Blaschewitz remained with the German Reich. On August 18, 1936, the town was renamed in Lower Blaise. By 1945, the place was in the district of Neustadt OS

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Błażejowice Dolne and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship and since 1999 he is part of the powiat Prudnicki. On 22 April 2009 the German Blaschewitz was in the community Oberglogau, plays, introduced as a second official language. On 1 December 2009, the City also received the official German place names Blaschewitz.
