Blazer (web browser)

Blazer is a web browser for Palm handhelds. It was originally developed by Handspring. The first version was released in May 2001 and supported HTML, WAP and i-mode. Since version 4, it is developed by Palm and uses the core technology NetFront browser from Access. The first two versions could be bought and were also pre-installed on various Handspring smartphones and version 3 was used 600 Treo smartphone. As of version 4 Blazer on Palm handhelds is installed.

The current version 4.3 supports the following:

  • SSL, proxy servers, VPN
  • HTTP cookies
  • Downloads on memory card uploads possible if the Palm program files / file browser installed, otherwise no file selection possible
  • Favorites

The latest version, 4.5, is on the Treo 700p (not yet available in Europe ) are used and brings an innovation among other things, the inclusion of a streaming player, which is provided by Kinoma.
