Bleckley County, Georgia

The Bleckley County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Cochran.

Geography

The County is located approximately in the middle of Georgia and has an area of 568 square kilometers, of which five square miles are water. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Laurens County, Dodge County, Pulaski County, Houston County and Twiggs County. The main cities are Allentown and Cochran.

History

The Bleckley County was formed as a 145 County from parts of Pulaski County on July 30, 1912 and named after Logan Bleckley, a judge of the Supreme Court of Georgia.
