Blencow

Blencow, sometimes called Blencowe, is a place in Cumbria in North West England. The place is divided by the River Petteril in Little Blencow in the north or in the south of Great Blencow.

The place gave the Blencow station on the railway line Penrith Cockermouth Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway the name, although the station was on the edge of the neighboring village Newbiggin.

The politician William Whitelaw lived a long time in a house on the southern edge of the village.
