Blending inheritance

When blending inheritance, a particular assumption regarding the expiry of inheritance was described in the early evolutionary biology, for which there is no generally accepted German equivalent. This assumption was the hypothesis of particulate inheritance ( " particulate inheritance " ) opposite; both were of great historical importance because of them centrally constant conceptual and theoretical assumptions were derived, including the structure of the theory of evolution itself, there was a long time a scientific controversy regarding the expiry of inheritance, which decreased to different speculations about the units of heredity.

With the discovery of DNA as the carrier of genetic information, this historic dispute was resolved in favor of the second hypothesis and plays since in evolutionary biology no longer matters.
