Song

The song was written 1988-1989 by Kurt Cobain and appeared on the EP of the same name, on the album Bleach, on the Live CD From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah and the live video Live! Tonight! Sold Out! published.

Text

Kurt Cobain called at any song on Bleach the deeper meaning and once mentioned that he arbitrarily together words wrote for the album, which had little personal meanings.

Cobain turns in Blew a seemingly familiar person, place or object and calls the right " to lose" to " disappear" and to "breathe ". Each claim is, however, begins with a "If you do not mind ... " ( "If you would not mind ").

The latest version of Blew was written only a few days before the recording of Bleach. An earlier version of the text was slightly longer, but hardly more extensive. The only major change was rewriting the line " I want to choose " ( "I would like to choose " ) to " I want to lose " ( "I would like to lose ").

Music

The band experimented then with drop -D tuning, ie the low E string of the guitar or bass guitar is tuned down to a D. Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic had voted their instruments deeply before shooting, but forgot again and agreed it even deeper.

EP

The Blew EP was released in December 1989 at the Tupelo Records. Except Blew contains the EP Love Buzz ( first single from Bleach ) Been A Son ( published in this version in 2002 on the Nirvana ( Best - Of) and in another version on Incesticide ) and Stain (1992 on Incesticide published ).

The EP was released only in the UK and due to the edition of only 3000 pieces, the EP is hardly available. The EP was released as a 12 vinyl and CD.
