Block chain

A block chain is a chain consisting of drilled metal blocks and outer plates that are put together with pins. It has in each case a short pitch ( block) and a long pitch to ( outer link plates ). Block chains have a relatively high weight and high tooth flank wear, but because of the rigidity ( torsional stiffness ) in many areas indispensable.

Block chains are often used as traction chains in carriers for gentle conveying of predominantly fine-grained dust-like or bulk materials. Based on the structure of this chain type, the capacity is not very high, the service life but very high because of their design low chain speed.
