Block House (restaurant)

Block House is a restaurant chain founded in 1968 in Hamburg, which specializes in steaks. The group was set up by the Hamburg restaurateurs Eugen Block and his sister Marlies Head modeled after American steakhouses.

Company History

The first Block House was opened on 26 September 1968, the location of this restaurant was the Dorotheenstraße in Hamburg. 1972 was followed by the establishment of the company's own butcher's shop and a separate, centrally organized menu production, which in 1994 was moved to Zarrentin am Schaalsee.
