Block post

Block locations (abbreviation Bk) are railway systems of the open road, the limit in its capacity as a Zugfolgestelle Zugfolgeabschnitt. They have usually via one main signal in each direction and distance track. They are mainly found where the distance between two stations is so great that the achievable headways is not sufficient.

In the early years of the railroad block sites were locally occupied with interlocking block guards. Nowadays, there are only a few of these classic, staff operated pad sites. Your task is performed by means of the self- employed route block ( Sbk ) or central block.

A block location can be conceived as a branch point, a junction, a railway station, a cover body, a breakpoint is a stop and over- control center.
