Bloemfontein Celtic F.C.

The Bloemfontein Celtic Football Club is a South African football club based in Bloemfontein, which plays in the Premier Soccer League.

The Celtics are one of the financially strongest clubs in the country and are very popular in the Free State province. The club was founded in 1969 as Mangaung United Football Club. In 1984, Petros Molemela the club and changed the name to Bloemfontein Celtic.

In 1985, the team's South African Cup Winners' Cup.

After descending 2001 Molemela sold his shares to the former Celtic player Jimmy Augousti and Mmuso Tsoametsi. After three years, the team was relegated in season 2003/ 04 on back, claiming since then mostly in the midfield in the league.
