Bloglines is a web-based news aggregator. Under this surface, users can summarize RSS and Atom feeds for keywords and topics. The service is free. The service should be set in the fall of 2010, but it was announced on 4 November 2010 that the service continued and should be undertaken by MercantCircle from December 2010.

Bloglines gathered " syndicated feeds " or " news feed", distributed through Really Simple Syndication ( RSS ) and Atom, and they are sorted further to the users. It is a server-based aggregation system.

According to the company Bloglines has more than 280 million content items and blog article in its search database. Bloglines is available in English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.

Business

Bloglines Web Services was founded in 2003. In 2005 the company was acquired by Ask Jeeves. Since then it is one of IAC Search & Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of IAC / Interactive Corp., headquartered San Francisco.

The income for the first quarter of 2005 of $ 13.4 million, or 23 cents a year earlier to 18.1 million dollars, or 26 cents per share.
