Blomberg, Lower Saxony

Blomberg is a municipality in the southeast of the velvet municipality in the district of Holtriem Witt mouth in East Frisia in Lower Saxony. The community had in 2004 about 1400 inhabitants and covers an area of 12.80 square kilometers. Blomberg borders (starting in the west) to the community Neuschoo ( also Samtgemeinde Holtriem ), the municipalities and Moorweg dunams (both Samtgemeinde Esen ) and to the Aurich district Langenfeld.

The settlement Blomberg was created by the Prussian colonization from 1765th Since 1972, the municipality of the velvet municipality Holtriem belongs to.

Parish council

The Council of the Municipality Council Blomberg consists of 11 women and councilors. This is the set number for the member community of integrated municipality with a population of 1001-2000 people. The 11 Women Council and councilors are elected by a municipal election for five years. The current term of office began on 1 November 2011.

The council chose the alderman Irmgard Willms ( FWG ) for honorary mayor for the current parliamentary term.

The turnout in the local elections of 2011 was 60.02 %, well above the Lower Saxony average of 52.5 %. For comparison - in the previous local elections on 10 September 2006, the turnout was 64.03 %.
