Blomesche Wildnis

Blomesche wilderness is a municipality in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig- Holstein.

Geography and transport

The community Blomesche wilderness lies just north of Gluckstadt Road and consists of several settlements on the Elbe.

History

Today's settlements developed because of the embankments beginning of the 17th century. Former settlements in the municipality had to be abandoned due to flooding in the 14th century. As a result of this is to say the foreland at the same wilderness or desert, which is also reflected today still in place names. The first part of the name goes back to the Blome, the last owner of the company founded in 1667 Guts, which included the lands in present-day municipality. Before the possessions were accordingly called Ahlefeldsche wilderness and Plessensche wilderness.

The community is self-employed since 1889.
