The Trouvère Blondel it, according to the Blondelsage King Richard the Lionheart in the years 1192-1194 was looking for his arrest on his return from the Third Crusade in Dürnstein in Austria, as he drew from castle to castle and everywhere sang the songs that only he was could know and King Richard. Whether the historical Blondel was actually acquainted with Richard the Lionheart, is unclear. In none of the traditional songs under his name there is an allusion to King Richard.
