Blood and Honor - Youth under Hitler in 1982 is a German -American TV mini- series, which was created as a co- production between the SWF ( Südwestfunk ) and the Taurus Film, Munich.

The screenplay was written by Helmut Kissel and is based in part from his own experiences as a member of the Hitler Youth. Robert Muller has worked on the screenplay. Helmut Kissel served as director of the project, was replaced after a few weeks of Bernd Fischer Auer. The shooting took place in August 1980 in Baden -Baden and then went from January to March 1981 end. Each scene was shot in both German and English, will result in the two versions of the film. The post production of the German version was completed in spring 1982. The premiere on West German television was in July 1982 and reached an audience share of 50%. The American version had in November 1982 premiere in several independent television stations in the United States ( KBHK -44, WPIX - TV, etc.). Blood and Honor: Youth Under Hitler also received a Peabody Award in 1982 and was shown in seven countries, including the Netherlands, the UK, Austria and Israel.
