Blood Money (Mobb-Deep-Album)

Blood Money is the seventh studio album by American rap duo Mobb Deep. It was released in May 2006 on G-Unit Records.

Importance

In 2005, Mobb Deep 50 Cent and his label G- Unit Records was signed. Blood Money was the first album for the new label. Many fans took the change initially critical, since they feared that Mobb Deep develop into very mainstream direction and adjust their sound to the music of G-Unit would and would thus sell themselves and their " Street Sound".

Features and producers

The album was produced mostly by band member Havoc. However, there were also guest productions by producers the likes of Dr Dre, Jonathan Rotem and The Alchemist. As features are represented except for Nate Dogg and Mary J Blige only rapper of G-Unit.

Achievements

The album peaked at number three on the Billboard charts and sold in the first week around 100,000 times. Despite this good result, the album in hip-hop circles is regarded as a failure and blamed the band's sell-out and sold to date only about 500,000 times.

  • 50 Cent has seven guest appearances on the album.
  • The songs Have a party and Outta Control are bonus tracks. Both have been released previously. The remix of Outta Control comes from 50 cents album The Massacre, where it was used as a bonus track on the Special Edition. Have a party comes from the soundtrack of the film Get Rich or Die Tryin '.
