Bloomberg Television

Bloomberg Television is an international news channel group that has specialized in economic and financial issues. It is the company Bloomberg L.P. run by Michael Bloomberg.

Bloomberg L.P. organized Bloomberg Television in Europe, Asia, Australia, the Pacific and the Americas in English. Furthermore offered a radio program and various podcast channels.

Bloomberg Germany

On August 1, 1997, Bloomberg received L.P. of the Hessian State Institute for Private Broadcasting permission to broadcast their German language program nationwide. On 9 March 2009 the German -language program was discontinued. Chief editor of the German branch was last William Koetting.

Program

In panel discussions, among other topics with financial experts were discussed. Known Bloomberg moderators such as Philip ENCZ and Andreas Scholz led by shows like the boss, page by economic or Bloomberg exclusive. Another well-known presenter was Susanne Schmidt, the daughter of former German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt. For moderating team also included Richard White, William Koetting, Judith Bogner and Melanie Kösser.

When the transmitter program start, the picture was still divided into several segments. On the upper left was the actual TV picture, stock prices, index data, stock charts and news were down and to the right appears. This " multi-screen " but was gradually changed to a full screen with treadmills - as is usual in other news channels. In August 2007, the design in the USA, was then replaced in November at the British offshoot. In Germany the conversion took place on 21 January 2008.

On 1 February 2008, the analogue broadcasting via ASTRA has been set. In connection with the attitude of the German version of the spread of the transmitter via the analogue cable network will not be pursued.

Setting the international offshoot

According to media reports in February 2009 should all offshoots of the U.S. news channel that do not send in English, 2009 to adjust its transmit mode. As of March 9, 2009, independent branch in Germany, France, Italy and Spain have been set. The television service by Bloomberg Japan was shut down on April 30, 2009; the frequencies assumed Bloomberg Asia- Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Brazil and Latin America are now also supplied with the global program; the treadmills and commercial breaks are still being designed in Spanish.

Foreign-language offshoot have since been denied solely in cooperation with domestic companies. So there with Bloomberg Haber Türk an offer for the Turkish market as well as with Bloomberg UTV, an Indian program. In Japan, Bloomberg cooperates with the broadcasters Fuji Television and Tokyo Broadcasting System and produces individual program segments. For these markets, in addition comprehensive information services are operated on the internet. For Mongolia, another offshoot called Bloomberg TV Mongolia was set up in collaboration with the Trade & Development Bank of Mongolia, who began broadcasting in April 2012.

Program

The daily hours of real-time information program - broadcast worldwide - with exceptions. From the perspective of European viewers the shipments from Hong Kong in the early morning program, which transferred from London in the morning and lunch and the formats of the headquarters of the media group in New York City in the afternoon and evening. The transmitter repeats worldwide since 2009 in the evening hours the previous day's edition of the PBS talk show Charlie Rose with the eponymous host. The talk show is produced in the studios of Bloomberg in New York since 1994. Rose is Bloomberg also for special shipments.

Over the current stock prices in the treadmill and index data, headline, date and time are displayed.

The program of Bloomberg Television is produced worldwide since April 25, 2011 in HD. Bloomberg HD will initially be available only in the United States since May 2011. There, the transmitter again makes the " Multi-screen " principle use (see above). The SD channels are not switched to the widescreen format. The in height now detached area is used for the treadmills. These have been covered the lower portion of the transmission signal.
