Blosville

Blosville is a commune with 279 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Manche in Basse-Normandie region.

Geography

The street village Blosville is on an average height of 26 meters above sea level on the Cotentin Peninsula, 32 kilometers north- west of Saint- Lô, the seat of the prefecture of the department and 9.2 kilometers southwest of Utah Beach, one land portion of the Allies in World War II. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin, is affected by the National Highway 13 and surrounded by the neighboring communities Hiesville, Carquebut and boss -du- Pont. The municipality has an area of 4.22 square kilometers.

History

In Blosville there are many buildings from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. 1722 saw the community 60 " fireplaces " (households) and had 1 770 164 inhabitants.

The church of Notre -Dame-de - Assumption ( Assumption into heaven ) was built in the 13th century. In the first half of the 18th century chancel and vestry were rebuilt. The vestry bears the date 1716.
