Occurrence

Behavior

The Blue Ear Honeyeater lives in small, territorial groups. For food include pollen, berries, nectar and fruits ( eg bananas, grapes) and insects that he accidentally licks with the lick up the nectar. The Blue Ear honeyeater is very aggressive, especially during the mating season usually. He often uses abandoned nests of other birds and sometimes even sells Graukronentimalien from their nests. Occasionally, he builds his own, large, cup -shaped nests, which he strongly defended well against humans. In the breeding season from June to February 2-3 eggs are incubated for 16 days by the female alone. However, both parents birds and other birds in the group help in the rearing of young birds.
