Blautangare ( Thraupis episcopus )

The Blautangare ( Thraupis episcopus ), also called Blue-gray Tanager Bischofstangare or, is a species of bird in the family of Tanagers. Its natural range extends from Mexico to Peru and northwestern Brazil. It also occurs in Tobago and Trinidad.

The body plumage of Blautangare is slate gray. The upper wing covers are green to bluish colored turquoise blue. Females are colored similar to the males, but their plumage has a more greenish tone. The song of the Blautangare is a squeaky -acting singing.

The birds are free breeders. The female lays two to three eggs. Incubation period is 13 to 14 days.
