BM Altea

BM Altea ( Altea Club Balonmano ) is a Spanish handball club from Altea ( Alicante ).

In the 2007 /08 season occurs BM Altea in La Liga Nacional to Grupo C.

History

The club was founded in September 1974; First President D. Pascual Moragues Riera was. After the team was moved up to second in the Spanish league, they rose in 1996/97 for the first time in the league ASOBAL on, but did not manage to avoid relegation. Only after the second attempt in 1999 succeeded the club to establish itself in the Spanish top flight. The semi-finals in 2003 and the finals of the EHF Cup in 2004 represented the sporting highlight of the club's history dar.

In the 2006/07 season at the club occurred financial problems that eventually led to the club withdrew his gaming license for the 2007 /08 season and relegation despite the achieved rank 12 in the second Spanish league. As a result, the club had to close all player contracts.

Teams of BM Altea are currently represented in almost all the Spanish leagues.
