Bmi regional is a British regional airline based in Aberdeen, Scotland. She was until May 2012 a subsidiary of British Midland Airways and operated independently since then under a new owner.

History

The airline was founded in 1987 as Business Air and began operations in August 1987. 2001 she changed her name to British Midland Regional. In March 2008, received bmi regional award as most punctual scheduled airline in Britain.

Until October 2009, Michael David Bishop stopped 50%, the Lufthansa 30% and SAS Scandinavian Airlines 20% bmi regional, the Lufthansa Group took over as part of the acquisition of the parent company British Midland Airways ( bmi), the shares of Michael Bishop and was so with 80 % of the shares to the majority shareholder of bmi regional.

In December 2012, new routes from Bristol were announced to Hamburg and from Bristol to Frankfurt. Hamburg is then served from the end of April, six days twice daily, Frankfurt initially.
