BMW International Open

The BMW International Open is an international golf tournament on the European Tour. It is held annually since 1989 on the grounds of the Golf Club Munich Eichenried. Three times (1994-1996), this series has been interrupted and held the tournament on the grounds of the St. Eurach country and golf clubs. With two million euro prize money, the event is in the average of the European tournament series ( European Tour ). With an average audience of about 60,000 visitors during the entire tournament week the BMW International Open is the largest professional golf tournament in Germany. In the 20th edition, in 2008, Martin Kaymer became the first German victory after Bernhard Langer had repeatedly occupied the second place.
