BMW M54

The BMW M54 is a series of six-cylinder engines, which had its debut in 2000. It is the further development of the M52 and was replaced by the N52 in 2004. The M54 engines have a camshaft adjustment for intake and exhaust valves ( double VANOS ).

Compared to its predecessor the M52 Displacement at M54B22 and the M54B30 with a slightly longer stroke was increased in size by 0.2 liters. The partially significant performance gains (28 kW in the case of the 3 -liter engine ) but were achieved largely by reducing the flow resistance to the intake and exhaust of the engine.
