Bo (parsha)

Bo (Hebrew בא, " Come " [ Pharaoh ] ) denotes a reading portion ( Parasha or Sidra called ) comprises the Torah and the text Ex / Shemot 10.1 to 13.16.

It is the Sidra of the 1st or 2nd Sabbath of the month of Shevat.

Gist

  • The last three of the ten plagues in Egypt: 8 locusts; 9 darkness; 10 Death of the Firstborn
  • Between 9th and 10th Plage rules on the sacrificial Lamb ( Passover sacrifice) and the seven -day celebration of the feast of unleavened bread
  • At the onset of the 10th plague of Pharaoh to quickly extract the essence.
  • No uncircumcised person shall eat of the Passover sacrifice.
  • Sanctification of the firstborn
  • The text excerpts are from 13.11 to 16 and 13:1-10 as a " memento " on hand and head are supported ( fundamental for the tefillin )
