Bo (Sierra Leone)

Bo is a city in Sierra Leone. She has nearly 150,000 inhabitants ( 2004) and is therefore to Freetown, the second largest city in the country. The inhabitants belong to the majority ethnic group of Mende. Bo is the capital of the Southern Province and Bo District.

Geography

Bo is in the Chiefdom Kakua in the same Bo district in the province of Southern, between Freetown and Kenema.

Education

Njala University College has - in addition to the temporary main campus in Freetown (actually in the village of Njala ) a campus in Bo. Similarly, a German Fachhochschule are taught mainly technical and practical subjects such as agriculture and technology here.
