Bo Thong District

Amphoe Bo Thong ( Thai: อำเภอ บ่อ ทอง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Chonburi. The Chonburi province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring Amphoe are clockwise from the north: Koh Chan Chonburi province, Amphoe Tha Takiap the province of Chachoengsao, Amphoe Kaeng Hang Maeo the province of Chanthaburi, Amphoe Khao Chamao and the Wang Chan Rayong province Amphoe Nong Yai and Ban Bueng and Phanat Nikhom again from the province of Chonburi.

History

Bo Thong was originally a tambon of Amphoe Phanat Nikhom. On December 16, 1978, he was promoted to a subdistrict King Amphoe. On March 16, 1985 Bo Thong Amphoe got the full status.

Management

Bo Thong is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 46 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Bo Thong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ่อ ทอง ) consists of parts of tambon Bo Thong and Wat Suwan.
  • That Thong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ธาตุทอง ) consists of the whole tambon That Thong.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
