Bob B. Soxx & the Blue Jeans

Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans were an American vocal group of the early 60s.

History

The group was one of many who called the producer Phil Spector to life. 1962 he "discovered" the singers Darlene Love and Fanita James in Los Angeles. First, he let Darlene Love, the lead voice in the recording Crystals " He's A Rebel " sing. The written by Gene Pitney song became a hit.

Then he and Bobby Sheen, the band Bob B. Soxx & The Blue Jeans. The name was a play on words, since " Bobby Socks " were called the socks worn by the American girls at that time.

First, the trio recorded the song Zip -a -Dee- Doo - Dah from the Walt Disney film " Song of the South " from 1947 on. It was a hit. The next two numbers the group then did not have as much success and quickly disappeared into oblivion. Their titles were all produced by Phil Spector, Jack Nitzsche arranged by and published on the label Philles Records. After the dissolution of the group Darlene Love began the attempt a solo career.
