Bob Christie (racing driver)

Robert " Bob" Christie ( born April 4, 1924 in Grants Pass, Oregon; † June 1, 2009 ) was an American race car driver.

Career

Christie ran 1956-1963 in the USAC racing series in the USA. 15 times he was in all the years at the start, including eight times in the 500 miles of Indianapolis. His best finish was third place in 1959 in Daytona. In Indianapolis, his best result was the tenth rank in 1960.

Since the 500 miles of Indianapolis also belonged between 1950 and 1960 Formula 1 World Championship, Christie also participated in five rounds of the World Cup. Points for the championship he could not achieve.

After his career he worked, inter alia, for Firestone.
