Bob Corkum

Robert Freeman "Bob" Corkum ( born December 18, 1967 in Salisbury, Massachusetts ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who in his career from 1989 to 2002 for the Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Los Angeles Kings, New jersey Devils and Atlanta Thrashers played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Bob Corkum began his career as a hockey player in the 1985/86 season at the University of Maine, where he ran aground in 39 games and reached 33 points. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1986, he was selected in the third round at a total of 47 position of the Buffalo Sabres. Corkum played until 1989 at the University of Maine, where he completed a total of 159 games and 142 points scorer recorded. The attacker was taken to season 1989/90 in the cadre of Buffalo Sabres, denied there, however, only eight NHL games before being discharged to their damaligem farm team, the Rochester Americans. By the year 1992, Corkum ran mostly on the farm team, but also received a few bets in the NHL. For 1992/ 93, the Sabres took him finally to their squad. The attacker played 68 games and reached ten points scorer for the Sabres. When NHL Expansion Draft 1993 Mighty Ducks of Anaheim chose the attacker, to which he moved to the 1993/94 season. Corkum succeeded the best game of his career. For the Ducks, he received 76 bets and collected 51 points scorer. In the following two years, his performance declined and he only reached 19 respectively twelve points.

In February 1996, the Mighty Ducks him transferred in exchange for Chris Herperger and a draft pick to the Philadelphia Flyers. For the Flyers, he completed 28 games and reached seven points. Late September 1996 put the Flyers to the attacker on the waiver list, from that the Phoenix Coyotes chose him in the Waiver Draft. In Phoenix, he ran the following three seasons as a regular player. In 233 games for the Coyotes, he scored 60 points scorer. Subsequent to which his expiring contract at end of season 1998/99 is not extended, he stayed for several months a so-called free agent before the striker end of December 1999 signed a contract with the Los Angeles Kings. In 103 games for the Kings he scored 21 points. In February 2001, the Kings him transferred in exchange for Steve Kelly to the New Jersey Devils. The Devils Corkum received 29 bets and reached seven points before the end of the season not extended his contract and he thus again a free player has. The American signed with the Atlanta Thrashers. In 65 games he scored seven points there. In March 2002, the Thrashers gave him off for a draft pick to the Buffalo Sabres, where Bob Corkum had started his NHL career. After ten games and only one point Corkum ended his playing career after the 2001 /02.

Internationally

At the international level Corkum represented his native country at the Junior World Championship 1987 in Austria. The team ended up in the final standings, although only in seventh place and thus avoided just the descent, but Corkum was able to achieve four goals in seven tournament games.
