Bob Denver

Bob Denver ( born January 9, 1935 in New Rochelle, NY, † September 2, 2005 in Winston -Salem, NC ) was an American actor.

Denver was born in upstate New York, but grew up in Brownwood ( Texas). He studied at Loyola University in Los Angeles. After the subsequent visit to the Sylvia Herpolscheimer Academy for Performance Arts, he worked as a postman and teacher at Corpus Christi School in Pacific Palisades, where he taught sports and mathematics. His television career began in 1959 with The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis.

From 1959 to 1963 he played the beatnik Maynard G. Krebs on the hit TV series The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. When his most famous role is true but the mate Gilligan on the sitcom Gilligan's Island, which was produced from 1964 to 1967 and has seen to this day countless repeats also on German television.
