Bob Drake (racing driver)

Bob Drake ( born December 14, 1919 in San Francisco, † April 18, 1990 in Woodland Hills ) was an American race car driver.

Career

Bob Drake was the mid-1950s as an amateur racer in the U.S. SCCA sports car series in use. After several years of absence, he returned in 1960 back with a Maserati Birdcage and celebrated some race wins.

His only Formula 1 Grand Prix he drove in 1960 at his home race in Riverside. With seven laps behind the winner Stirling Moss Drake came as 13ter the finish. Drake drove it a private Maserati 250F. It was the last use for this legendary racing car at a World Cup race of the Formula 1
