Bob Hartley

Robert " Bob" Hartley ( born September 9, 1960 in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Canada ) is a Canadian ice hockey coach.

Career

Already at the age of 31 took over Hartley as head coach of the Laval Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where in this position, he worked for two years and in the 1992/93 season with the team the Coupe du Président, the championship of the QMJHL, won. He then moved to the Cornwall Aces in the American Hockey League, where Hartley was promoted after a year as assistant coach to head coach. With the Hershey Bears in 1996, he took over the farm team of the Colorado Avalanche in the AHL and won with the team in its inaugural season of the Calder Cup. Again, two years later brought him the Avalanche in the NHL. From 1998 to 2002 he was a coach in Colorado, where she won the 2001 Stanley Cup.

On 13 January 2003, he became head coach of the Atlanta Thrashers and led them into the 2006 /07 to their first playoff participation. On 17 October 2007 he was dismissed from the Thrashers, after the team started with six defeats in the 2007/ 08 season. On March 14, 2011 Hartley was introduced as head coach of the ZSC Lions of the National League A and took over the 2011/12 season leading the team. After a season in Switzerland, he took on May 31, 2012 to a job offer from the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.

Hartley and his wife Micheline have two children, Kristine and Steve.
