Bob Mintzer

Bob Mintzer ( born January 27, 1953 in New Rochelle, New York) is an American jazz and fusion saxophonist and clarinetist and composer, arranger and bandleader.

Biography

Mintzer worked the mid-1970s with musicians like Eumir Deodato, Tito Puente, Buddy Rich and Hubert Laws 1977 and was one of the Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra at. Since 1978, he led his own band with whom he recorded more than twenty albums. In addition, he stepped on, inter alia, with Jaco Pastorius, Mike Mainieri, Louie Bellson, Bob Moses and the American Saxophone Quartet and has performed with various symphony orchestras. Since 1991 he is member of the fusion band Yellowjackets.
