Bob Nolan

Bob Nolan, Clarence Robert Nobles actually, ( born April 13, 1908 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, † June 16, 1980 in Newport Beach, California, United States) was a Canadian country music singer.

Biography

Nolan was a founding member of the Sons of the Pioneers. Together with Leonard Slye ( who later rechristened in Roy Rogers ) and Tim Spencer began in 1933 in Los Angeles as the Pioneer Trio. It met more musicians to the group, and out of the slip of the tongue of a radio announcer was written in 1935, the name Sons of the Pioneers.

The nature-loving Nolan had the special talent, musical realize his feelings. He composed many songs, including the classic Cool Water and Tumbling Tumbleweeds and is still regarded as one of the best songwriters, the country music has produced.

1979, a year before his death, Bob Nolan brought out the album The Sound of a Pioneer, in which he sings his old songs with audible declining voice. In Can You Hear Those Pioneers he tells of his past times that are irretrievably gone, and in That Old Outlaw time he deals with the impending death. Here is the chorus:

Nolan died on 16 June 1980. Following his wishes, his ashes were scattered in the desert of Nevada.
