Bob Orton

Robert Orton senior ( born July 21, 1929 in Kansas City (Kansas ), † 16 July 2006 in Las Vegas ) was an American professional wrestler. He was also known under the name of Bob Orton, Sr. or simply as Bob Orton. Orton married on January 22, 1950 Rita. Robert Orton was the father of WWE Hall of Famer "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jr. and wrestler Barry O and grandfather of current WWE " Third-Generation Superstars" Randy Orton. He also had a daughter named Rhonda.

With WWE Hall of Famer André the Giant he had a year long close friendship.

In July 2000, he retired from the wrestling business, and spent his last years in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here Bob Orton Sr. suffered in July 2006, initially at home a heart attack, then in the hospital another. He survived an eight-hour emergency surgery, but then died ten hours later from the effects of infarcts.

Career

Under the name "The Big O ", he first came into the Stampede Wrestling on TV Show.

Orton was in 1966 with his partner Eddie Graham two-time NWA World Tag Team Champion Florida. He was also able to win some more titles in various NWA territories, including the title of the NWA Southern Heavyweight Champions and together with Bob Orton Jr. Tag Team Titles the promotion Florida Championship Wrestling and the title of the NWA United States Heavyweight Champions of the Central States Wrestling promotion. Also active and successful he was in the former professional wrestler Association American Wrestling Association ( AWA).
