Bob Pridden

Bob Pridden (* 1946 in Ickenham, London ) is a British sound engineer. For over 40 years he worked with the British rock band The Who and other rock musicians. Bob Pridden is married to Lady Maria Noel, daughter of the fifth Earl of Gainsborough. Godfather of his son Benedict 's Who guitarist Pete Townshend.

Pridden since the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 working with the Who. Among other things, he was a sound engineer at the performances of the band at Woodstock in 1969 and at Live Aid in 1985, where he also sat for David Bowie and Paul McCartney on the mixer. He also has worked on numerous albums of The Who and solo projects of their members.

The development of stage monitor in the late 1960s is associated with Pridden. Pridden has used the first time so-called wedge monitors that are on stage in front of the respective musicians. Thus it can be mixed individually for each of the sound, which was not possible before.
