Geography
Belonging to the industrial center of Bitterfeld- Wolfen and the close proximity to the adjacent extensive floodplains in the glacial valley of the trough or Fuhne make the district Bobbau a sought-after residential location. History
Bobbau is first mentioned in 1370, but has been around much longer. The place name is of Slavic origin. In one of the recent hostilities of World War II in April 1945, farmsteads and houses were destroyed in Bobbau yet.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg heraldist Jörg Mantzsch 2007.
