Bobby Bauer

Theodore Robert "Bobby" Bauer ( born February 16, 1915 in Waterloo, Ontario, † September 16, 1964 ) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach, who played from 1935 to 1952 for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League.

Career

Together with Milt Schmidt and Woody Dumart he formed in Boston, the herb Line. They were among the strongest storm ranks of their time and won the Stanley Cup in 1939 and 1941. WWII to 1942, the three guys from the herb Line were the first North American professionals, who entered the army. Bauer still came after two years back in the NHL before he finished his career in 1947. Once again he returned in 1952 for a game to unite the herb Line back. The Bruins defeated Chicago and Bauer scored a goal and set up another front.

Bauer coached the Canadian team at the Olympic Games in Cortina d' Ampezzo in 1956 in Squaw Valley in 1960.

He was honored with induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1996.
