Bobby Brown (basketball)
Robert Douglas "Bobby" Brown ( * 24 September 1984 in Los Angeles, California) is an American professional basketball player. After studying in his native Brown began his professional career in the German Basketball Bundesliga for ALBA Berlin, with whom he was German champion in 2008. After working in the most highly endowed professional league NBA in 2010, he returned to Europe, where he played by stations in Poland and Greece in the National Basketball League in 2011/12 at the EWE Baskets Oldenburg. After he was for the Italian series champion Montepaschi Siena in the ULEB Euro League 2012/13 " top scorer " competition and winner of the " Alphonso Ford Trophy", changed to 2013/14 season in the Chinese Basketball Association to the Dongguan Leopards.
Career
Brown studied at California State University, Fullerton, where he played from 2003 for the high school team Titans in the Big West Conference of the NCAA. At the end of his four-year NCAA career, he was the most successful with 1961 points scorer in the history of the Titans basketball team. After he was not selected in the NBA Draft in 2007, he began a career as a professional in Europe. His first professional stop was the German first division club ALBA Berlin in the National Basketball League in 2007/ 08, in which the Berliners could be at the end of the season German masters. After Brown was again present in the NBA Summer League in 2008 the club officials of the NBA, he was then a two-year contract with the Sacramento Kings.
Already in February 2009, Bobby Brown and Shelden Williams were transferred in exchange for Calvin Booth and Rashad McCants of the Minnesota Timberwolves. For NBA 2009/10 he moved to the New Orleans Hornets. He was back-up of NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist Chris Paul. Due to the savings plans of the Hornets Brown was transferred on 26 January 2010 to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Hornets received in exchange a drawing right in the second round of the draft in 2010. For 2010/11 season, he returned to Europe to the Polish Gdynia. There he played early in the season at the Polish Asseco Prokom series champion, who had surprisingly reached in the preseason in the highest European club competition ULEB Euro League 2009/10 quarter-finals, among others, the German international Jan -Hendrik Jagla together. In early December, he moved to Greece and played for Aris Thessaloniki.
To Basketball League 2011/12 Brown returned to Germany and signed a contract with the EWE Baskets Oldenburg from, where he again played among others with his compatriot Ronald Burrell, who had already been his teammate in Poland. Despite personally good statistics, Brown was top scorer of all players of the competition with an average of almost 17 points per game, the baskets were not as they had hoped to play for the championship and missed the part in the play-offs significantly. With a total upheaval in the squad Brown received in Oldenburg a new contract and then played in the NBA Summer League. For the season 2012/2013 he then signed a contract with the Italian series champion Montepaschi Siena, who could defend their championship title at the end of the season. In addition, the team moved as only one of three Italian participants in the second round of the 16 best teams in the ULEB Euro League 2012/13. There, however, she missed almost a place in the quarter-final play-offs. Brown became the top scorer of all players of the competition, " Alphonso Ford Trophy " after he had been awarded in January 2013 as the " Most Valuable Player " (MVP) of the month.
For the 2013/14 season Brown then signed a contract in China Dongguan in the Leopards of the Chinese Basketball Association.
