Bobby Dollas

Bobby Dollas ( born January 31, 1965 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. During his career he played for the Winnipeg Jets, Quebec Nordiques, Detroit Red Wings, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

Career

Dollas played for two years from 1982 to 1984 at the Voisins de Laval in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In his rookie season he won the Trophée Raymond Lagacé for the best defensive rookie. The following year, the Voisins won with an outstanding Mario Lemieux in their ranks, the Coupe du Président, the championship of the QMJHL.

After the Winnipeg Jets had the defenders 1983 selected in the first round to 14th position of the NHL Entry Drafts, Dollas played yet at the end of the season 1983/84 his first NHL game. In the season 1984/85 came nine more to it. To the Game 1985/ 86, the Canadians then managed to finally make the leap into the professional and played until December 1987 in Winnipeg. This was followed by switching to Quebec Nordiques and Detroit Red Wings before he was selected in the NHL Expansion Draft 1993 by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim newly established. The Ducks were the first team, in which Dollas has established itself in the NHL squad in the long term and did not have to accrue League farm team in Minor. He ended up staying until the 1997/98 season in the Californian West Coast and was instrumental in the first attainment of the playoffs. During this time he also completed his best NHL year with 30 points in 82 games. As a result, Dollas for the Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Ottawa Senators and San Jose Sharks went on. After a return to the Pittsburgh Penguins at the end of the 2000/01 season he finished his NHL career and played until 2006 in various unterklassigen North American minor leagues.

Internationally

Dollas participated with the Canadian national team at the World Youth Championship in 1985 and the Senior World Championships in 1994. He was able to win the gold medal both times and was also appointed to the 1985 All- Star Team of the tournament.
