Bobby Goepfert

Robert Joseph "Bobby" Goepfert ( born May 9, 1983 in Kings Park, New York) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since August 2011 at the Düsseldorf issued in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Goepfert began his career in the United States Hockey League at the Cedar Rapids Roughriders and then moved for four years in the National Collegiate Athletic Association, where he moved after two years from Providence College to St. Cloud State University. This change was done for personal reasons, because it does not probably felt right in Providence. Fatal was the fact that he had unintentionally plagiarized work at the College, after which he was given a new chance at St. Cloud State University. Due to the regulations of the NCAA, he had in active sports, however, pause one years and used this time to advance his studies.

With good performances during his last two years of study he took his leave after graduating for the ECHL and signed a contract with Augusta Lynx, where he was also able to convince. In 2008 he made his debut in the AHL with the Hershey Bears, brought it but only on three missions and completed the majority of the season with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL. That same season, he also played a game for the EC Red Bull Salzburg, but where do you continue to put on Jordan Parise. For the 2009/10 season he was obligated as the first keeper of the people of Salzburg. After the commitment of Reinhard Divis Goepferts contract was terminated. In December 2009, Goepfert signed a contract until the end of the 2009/10 season at the Hamburg Freezers, who needed a new keeper due to injury of the root goalkeeper Jean -Marc Pelletier.

In August 2010, Goepfert signed a contract with the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League, but also applied to the ECHL. A year later he hired at the Düsseldorf EC. There, he was initially committed as a substitute goalkeeper for Jean -Sebastien Aubin, after the first third of the season he became the first-choice goalkeeper. This was due to a poor performance of the number one -budgetary Düsseldorf EC, on the other hand his own performance. So he was the first player next captain Daniel Kreutzer a contract for the 2012/2013 season.

He was also, as it did to his time in Hamburg, after a few matches played due to his playing style to the audience favorite. His first shutout for Dusseldorf he succeeded on November 4, 2011 in Munich against the EHC based there.
