Bobby Naughton

Bobby Naughton ( born June 25, 1944) is an American jazz musician (vibraphone, composition).

Life and work

Naughton, who is self-taught as a musician, first as a pianist played rock music before the end of the 1960s jazz, and soon turned to the vibraphone. In the avant-garde jazz he first played with musicians like Perry Robinson, Sheila Jordan and Anthony Braxton. Since 1969, he lays panels before under its own name. The Jazz Composer's Orchestra, he was in 1972. JAPO Records on his album Understanding was published (1973). Since the mid- 1970s he worked with Wadada Leo Smith, with its Creative Orchestra he performed in 1979 at the Moers Festival as well ( Budding of a Rose) as with the New Delta Ahkri in Italy. In 1981, he toured in a quartet with Smith, Peter Kowald and Günter Sommer. In the same year he played with the Creative Improvisers Orchestra recorded the album The Sky Cries the Blues.
