Bobby Rush

Bobby Lee Rush ( born November 23, 1946 in Albany, Georgia ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party. He belongs since 1993 to the House of Representatives of the United States as the representative of the State of Illinois.

Life

Bobby Rush served from 1963 to 1968 in the U.S. Army. He studied at Roosevelt University in Chicago, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in 1974. From 1983 to 1993 he served on the city council (city council) of Chicago. In addition, he later attended the University of Illinois and the McCormick Theological Seminary.

Political career

Early on, he was active as a deputy defense minister of the Black Panther Party in Illinois.

As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives representing Rush since January 3, 1993, the first congressional district of the state of Illinois.
