Bobby Ryan

Bobby Ryan ( born March 17, 1987 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey as Robert Shane Stevenson ) is an American professional ice hockey player. Since July 2013, he plays for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League for the position of right winger. He was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the first round in second place, just behind Sidney Crosby.

Career

Since early age played Bobby Ryan Hockey; first on public facilities in Philadelphia and later in various youth clubs. His father, Bob Stevenson, who owned an insurance company, injured in October 1997 in an alcohol- related violence that results in his wife Melody Stevenson difficult. Previously, Bobby Ryan had with his father attended a hockey game of the Philadelphia Flyers. After returning home, Bob met a few friends and tipped a few beers. He accused his wife of drug abuse, which she always contested.

The U.S. Department of Justice brought an action against Bob Stevenson charges of attempted murder, whereupon this deposed to El Segundo, Southern California to escape the authorities. His wife, however, remained with her son and wanted to not press charges against her husband. Later, the same year both moved to Southern California, where father Bob in Bob Ryan had validly be renamed. Thus, it was from Bobby Stevenson also Bobby Ryan. After Ryan, who was home schooled, had played several years in the junior program of the Los Angeles Kings, it came in 2000 to a new family crisis. In February of the year, several U.S. marshals stormed the apartment of Ryan's in Hermosa Beach and arrested the father. In the subsequent trial, he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and weger was sentenced to a prison term of four years.

In the OHL Priority Selection 2003 Bobby Ryan was selected in the first round at the seventh position of the Owen Sound Attack. From the season 2003/ 04 Bobby Ryan played professional juniors hockey in the Ontario Hockey League for the Owen Sound Attack, where he wore the number 9. During this time, it became increasingly more potential and talent Ryan, so this was in 2005 ultimately selected second by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005. In his four years at the Attack Bobby Ryan scored 133 goals and gave another 192 templates for 325 points with 210 penalty minutes. All this he scored in 249 games. In the playoffs, he scored nine goals in 30 games and 17 assists for 26 points. In contrast, stood for Ryan also 26 penalty minutes to book.

After Ryan in 2005 /06 19 games for the Portland Pirates, the AHL affiliate team the Mighty Ducks, played in the season in the playoffs, where he came to a total of eight points - including a goal - he was also in the following season temporarily employed in the American Hockey League, where he posted three goals and six assists in eight games. In March 2006, he signed an entry-level contract for three years with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. From the season 2006/ 07 Bobby Ryan had a regular place in the squad and the Pirates scored in the 2007/ 08 season in 48 games 49 points, 21 goals and 28 templates. Also during this season, Ryan was first used at the Anaheim Ducks and so came to a total of 23 games in the NHL, where he scored five goals and five assists. His first NHL goal was scored by right winger on 29 September 2007 in the season opening game of the Ducks against the Los Angeles Kings in London for the temporary 1:3 ( Full 1:4). So Ryan succeeded as one of the few players directly in his first NHL encounter a hit.

After the 2009/10 season of the contract of striker ran out in Anaheim and Ryan became a restricted free agent. His right hand continued to hold the Anaheim Ducks, as they had submitted to him on 28 June 2010, a qualifying offer. On 1 July 2010, the first day when he became a restricted free players, General Manager Bob Murray announced that the attacker a contract offer for five years was presented with a total salary of around five million U.S. dollars per year. However, Ryan refused to sign this, as he had an offer for four years with the same total salary back. The contract negotiations dragged on in the length, as Ryan insisted to play in the front row along with Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry and to maintain the warranty that the two want to stay long-term in Anaheim. General Manager Bob Murray did not let that stop regardless of the setbacks of his projects, insisting on a long- term contract by the American. This, however, was initially only willing to sign a short-term contract. Ryan explained that he does not want to leave the Ducks, calling the disagreement over the term of the contract as the decisive criterion, so that the negotiations dragged on for several months. Possible offers from other teams, he refused and informed his advisers that he would not comment on this. Bob Murray reiterated that the Californians would not leave the striker in a barter.

In the case of a possible Offer Sheet, a kind of contract offer, Murray announced that he was about to withdraw any offers of a NHL team to keep Ryan in the squad of Californians. Ryan agreed to a five-year contract with the Californians until 14 September 2010. During this time a total payroll of the Americans were assured of a total of 25.5 million U.S. dollars. In his first year of the contract, his salary volume stood at about 3.25 million U.S. dollars, and in the following four seasons at each 5.6255 million U.S. dollars per contract year. In summer 2010, inter alia, the Toronto Maple Leafs had expressed interest in signing the attacker. This had applied in September 2008 to the attacker and tries him in a business transfer to Toronto needs to leave.

In July 2013 he was transferred in exchange for Jacob Silfverberg, Stefan noeses and a first-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2014 to the Ottawa Senators.

Ryan is considered a power forward because of his size and his physical strength. Especially his good qualities scorer and its multiple actions with the puck are highlighted.

Internationally

Ryan participated with Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics and won the silver medal with the team.

In his time as a junior player, he played for the U.S. team, the Junior World Championship in 2006.
